The interlocking Kelly bar is one of the core components of the rotary drilling rig, mainly used for drilling operations in hard formations such as rocks, pebbles, dense gravel, etc. It transmits greater pressure and torque through a mechanical locking mechanism, overcoming the problem of the friction kelly bar slipping easily in hard formations.

1. Transmitting greater pressure: By locking with mechanical locking keys, the pressure of the hydraulic system is directly transmitted to the drill bucket, improving the drilling ability in hard formations.  
2. Efficient torque transmission: Compared to friction kelly bar, the interlocking kelly bar can transmit high torque more stably in the locked state, reducing energy loss.   
3. Suitable for complex geological formations: particularly suitable for hard rocks, strongly weathered rocks, pebble layers, dense gravel and other formations that are difficult for friction rods to penetrate.
