1、 Introduction to rotary drilling tools
Rotary drilling tools are a type of drilling equipment widely used in fields such as geotechnical engineering and pile foundation engineering. It has the advantages of high efficiency, low cost, and environmental protection, so it has been widely used in various engineering projects. The main function of rotary drilling tools is to drill and form holes, and they are widely used in fields such as land development, road and bridge construction, and high-rise buildings.
2、 Types of LIMTA drilling tools
As for the LIMTA rotary drilling tools, they can be divided into various types: drilling bucket with soil teeth, drilling bucket with rock teeth, core barrel with bullet teeth, core barrel with roller bits, core barrel with crossing cutter, core barrel with double shell, auger, open-type bucket, cleaning bucket, and belling bucket.
1). The drilling bucket with soil teeth can be designed with an elongated straight cylinder to prevent inclined holes during drilling. Built-in drain hole can avoid bucket stuck by vacuum space, whether to add skirt edge can be determined according to working conditions. The suitable geological layers for soil buckets include silt layer, gravel layer, and strongly weathered soft rock layer.
2). The drilling bucket with rock teeth can be customized with a manual and automatic integrated bottom unlocking mechanism, and is equipped with an anti suction drilling water hole. Integrated center cone, arc-shaped guide plate with teeth, it is designed with a large drilling tool double opening locking bottom mechanism. The drilling tooth trajectories of the rock bucket are arranged in a staggered manner, intersecting and covering the entire section, creating free surfaces with each other. The application layers including gravel, pebble, strongly weathered, and moderately weathered layers.
3). The core barrel with bullet teeth can release rock confining pressure through circular cutting of the cylinder body, it also can perform stage breaking and drilling. The small drilling tool has a high core extraction rate, while the large drilling tool can be graded and combined for crushing. The applicable layers include backfill layer, moderately weathered rock layer, and bedrock layer.
4). The core barrel with roller bits can release rock confining pressure through circular cutting, and the teeth of the roller bits can be rolled and ground for drilling. The loss of the teeth is small, and the core extraction rate of the small drilling tool is high. The large drilling tool can be graded and combined for crushing. The applicable layers include medium to slightly weathered rock layers, hard rock layers, and ultra hard bedrock layers.
5). The core barrel with crossing cutter can release rock confining pressure through ring cutting, and the crossing cutter follows the fragmentation. In strata with well-developed fractures, the crossing cutter has a strong ability to carry debris. The application include gravel soil layers, strongly weathered rock layers, and moderately weathered rock layers.
6). During the core barrel with double shell operation, the small barrel can be cut in first, while the large barrel can follow the ring cutting to release the rock confining pressure, and the cutting teeth can be stepped to break and grind for drilling. core barrel with double shell is suitable for strata such as gravel soil, pebble layers, and moderately weathered rock layers.
7). The auger adopts a double headed spiral force design, which is not easy to deviate from the hole. Double blade spiral has strong soil carrying capacity, while single blade spiral is easy to unload soil. The auger is suitable for pebble layers, mudstone layers, sandstone layers, and strongly to moderately weathered hard rock layers.
8). The open-type bucket adopts a large soil inlet design and a body opening cylinder structure, which efficiently unloads slag and improves drilling efficiency. The reinforced design of the cylinder, guide plate, and reinforcing ribs can improve the service life of the drill bucket. Guide bars will be arranged around the cylinder to prevent adsorption drilling bit. The applicable strata for open-type bucket include clay layer, silt layer, and strongly weathered rock layer.
9). There are two types of cleaning buckets: conical and straight, and they can be customized according to the working conditions. The cleaning bucket can be used to clean the sediment at the bottom of the hole, and it is suitable for flow plastic soft soil formations.
10). When customizing the belling bucket, the diameter of the bucket can be adjusted according to needs, and it can be used together with a drilling bucket or cleaning bucket. The belling bucket has a simple structure, flexible contraction and expansion, and convenient maintenance. The belling bucket is suitable for hard soil layers, permafrost layers, and medium soft rock layers.
3、 Working principle of rotary drilling tools
The working principle of rotary drilling tools is mainly based on the principles of rotary cutting and rotary reaction force. During the drilling process, the drill bit is subjected to drilling pressure and rotation cutting action, causing the soil layer or rock to break. Then, the soil fragments are collected into the drill bucket and pulled out of the pile hole through the kelly bar to remove the soil fragments from the drill bucket.
4、 The advantages and characteristics of rotary drilling tools
1). Efficiency: Due to the use of rotary cutting, rotary drilling tools can complete a large number of drilling operations in a short period of time, improving construction efficiency.
2). Low cost: Compared to traditional methods such as impact drilling and manual pile driving, rotary drilling tools have lower costs and can significantly reduce labor costs.
3). Environmental protection: The construction noise and dust of rotary drilling tools are low, and their impact on the surrounding environment is relatively small.
4). Wide applicability: Rotary drilling tools are suitable for drilling operations in various soil and rock types, and can be selected and adjusted according to different engineering needs.
5). Easy to operate: The structure design of the rotary drilling tool is reasonable, the operation is simple and convenient, and it is easy to master and maintain.
5、 Application fields of rotary drilling tools
